White Logo 1.png

Ross Henderson is an esteemed Kwakwaka’wakw artist from Fort Rupert, British Columbia, whose lineage traces back to the revered Henderson family of Campbell River and the Whonnock family of Fort Rupert. With over two decades of dedication to his craft, Ross brings ancestral stories to life through intricately carved totem poles, masks, rattles, and paddles.

Guided by the teachings of his late grandfather, Chief Sam Henderson, an icon in Indigenous carving, and inspired by ceremonial traditions shared by Chief Frank Nelson and others, Ross's work is steeped in authenticity and deep cultural reverence. Beginning his journey at the prestigious Thunderbird Park carving shed at the Royal BC Museum, Ross has devoted his life to mastering the art form that reflects the soul of his people.

With every carving, Ross embodies the spirit of continuity, resilience, and tradition, creating heirloom-quality pieces that bridge past and present. His commitment is not only to excellence in artistry, but also to the preservation of Kwakwala culture for generations to come.
